The One and Only Whately

Thank you for a beautiful celebration, Whately!

Originally inhabited by the native Norwottucks, Whately’s three by six-mile area of fertile soils, abundant water resources, and wildlife filled uplands has always been a paradise to its residents. Early colonial settlers grew crops in the valley and uplands of Whately, hunted in its forests, and built mills along its many brooks. Today, 250 years after Whately’s incorporation as a town, that heritage of subsistence on the land and celebration of its many fruits remains as strong as ever.
